| Thanks for the tip on the red wine, can you buy it any where other than Kaufland? Any one got a good Rise wine they can reccommend? My other favorite drink is called Ursus Red Vodka, made from Sloe berries. They have it in Greece in many of the bars and we were very happy when we found it in Karlovo, in the cash and carry area of the town. BUT not had it in for a while! Delicious with lemondae/sprite or just with ice, Yummmmmmmmm! |

Bulgaria at 14th place in beer sales in Europe
Bulgaria produces 5 million hectoliters of beer annually, which places it at 14th position in the list of Europe’s beer producers. In 2009, Germany again remained Europe’s largest beer producer, with a yearly production of 89 million hectoliters, followed by Great Britain and Poland. The data was made public at the meeting of Europe’s Brewers held in Brussels, which was opened by the President of the European Council, Herman van Rompuy. Over the past 12 months, the beer market in Bulgaria marked a 6-percent drop, but still, breweries continue to invest in technological innovation, machinery and equipment. Over the first six months of this year alone, investments made have been estimated at more than 10 million euro. |
