Oh hell I am furious now, just checked my bank account and found that £23 debit card charged by Booking com for a hotel transaction. It appears they charged my English debit card in euro hence the bank exchange rate. The bank said they paid what was asked as for in Euro Bookngs said the hotel claimed in euro and I said why as I use my English debit card so there are no exchange rates. I have used them for years and always used my english debit card for booking but I will cancel all booked holidays now apart from this one. Flipping nora £23 exchange I did not even get that in bank interest for a year.

I had a similar situation when booking through Booking.com for our Gran Canaria holiday in February. I paid for everything which included £100 damage deposit in English pounds
There was nothing broken or missing so I was looking to receive my £100 back, but no, I received £88 back and when asking for an explanation from the owner of the apartment I was told that it's all down to Booking.com and the rate of exchange. A CON
