You have a point, I would think that with FB and other social media most of the traffic has moved, plus the recent problem with the URL changing causing login problems may also be a factor? I did think at one stage it was turning into a chat room, rather than a source of info, help or advice, but those subjects can be like London buses. Its a changing world |

| I think you might be right there VG, there are only 4 of us now I assume the rest cannot access, I have sent email and message people but no reply. So I think we might soon be catching up on the old email or through Facebook, but I know Bill and Bryan or Bazz do no use Facebook so email it is. |

Hello, I don't know if you remember me but I came and joined last year and posted a couple of times. I was planning to come to Bulgaria last June but I had a heart attack and a stent put in just before coming. So I never made it. But I always came by here once in a while to see what was new, and enjoyed reading about what you were going through over there. Berni, you and your husband amazed me with what you did with your garden this last year. I worked construction most of my life and live out in the country so I know what you went through to do what you did. You two should be proud of yourselves! Sorry I never posted, but somehow since I never made it over there I didn't feel like one of the group.... lol. I didn't even realize you had problems with accessing the site. I was here about 1 1/2 weeks ago and just came by again and had no problem getting in. It's sad to see that others are having problems and this forum is dying out. I'm just writing this here so you all know it wasn't just you regulars who were coming by and enjoying the forum. Just want to thank you for posting what you did. By the way, feeling good now, and I'm still hoping to get away this summer for a trip over there. Even after a year it is still the place I am most interesting in coming to see next, partially because of you all here. Thanks again... going to miss this place if it's gone. Daryl |

| Ah welcome back Daryl, so good to see you here. I did wonder what happened to you and am real sorry to hear of your heart condition, but don't let it get to you, Dougie had a few heart attacks just before we were due to leave for Bulgaria to start a new life in 2008. He built massive trailer and flatpacked everything so it was easy to transport what we needed. However, our plans were put on hold until 2016. We had to get a transport company to take our own goods and the mountain of stuff we had collected for the orphanages over for us and we would drive over ourselves. This was the first trip we did and included items for the orphanages but it turned out we had more stuff for them than we had ourselves We had planned on driving the trailer over ourselves but that was no longer an option and we had collected far too much stuff for the orphanages so we had to pay the £2000+ for transport and we drove over ourselves nice and easy and a lovely drive stopping off taking lots of breaks, no rushing. Dougie was very tired and drained but recovered well from surgery plus he had 3 stints fitted and thank God all is fine. The pills were draining him. He is down to 7 pills a day now. Our English doctor had him on 21 a day so went to specialist here in BG and she cut out 14 so was pleased with that. i continued working until 2015 and over the years Dougie stayed in BG for about 3 to 5 months at a time keeping himself busy with small jobs. Then decided in 2016 this is silly him in one country and me in the other so 15th April 2016 we rented our house out and here we are 2 years later and still loving it, However, it is not all a bed of roses, we have had some bad time too but with help and advice from forum members, friends etc we have got though them. We will continue to use the forum until it finally goes but we have facebook and email please feel free to keep my email address. Live is short Daryl and it is only no we are beginning to realise this so make the most of it and get over here whilst you can even if it only for the summer months to begin with. We were worried about staying here in winter because of Dougie's heart condition but as long as you are prepared and keep warm and fed all will be fine. Our gazebo is finished now See on here go back a few pages [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] but we have a little problem with the cement as it started to flake I put salt on the patio but maybe too much so will tackle this in due course as the guys on here told me how to do it. Take care of yourself and each other and soon you will be enjoying life in BG please God xx |

| Hi all, I received an email newsletter yesterday and noticed that the URL was different, before that, since sometime at the beginning of April, I too was redirected to the site for sale page. I would guess that Ashley's subsciption to tho dotcom URL had expired. As most members would have also received this we should see people coming back when people realise this. It may be a good idea if Admin put a note on the next newsletter (I tried the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] tag but it shows user not found) |

I don't know if it's seasonal, but this time of year a lot of my time is spent beating the jungle back |

I agree plus everyone has different personal circumstance changes and reasons for using forums, and as mentioned earlier FB may be a more popular source? ( for the moment) I wonder what the situation will be as and when BREXIT changes kick in and we start to see how that will affect us living here in BG? |

| Dandylion, it has a tap root. If you soak the ground you may be able to ease it out, otherwise you may be able to find a tool that is sort of like a corer and remove it that way. Alternatively, and if you don't have too many, you could also try painting a solution of weedkiller directly on the leaves. |
