I do....I also think of the 116 families in Australia who lost their homes, possessions, pets and in some cases, much more!!!

This is all very sad but to be honest the powers that be have all known for some time that this was coming and now it has what will they do for the future? my guess is nothing they will make all sorts of promises now and then sit back in their ivory towers.

Under the EU rules we can no longer dredge rivers or estuaries or clear out ditches or straighten waterways to improve flow as has been done for hundreds of years by sensible local organisations. In the few cases where the gauliters in Brussels do allow work to be done the mud pulled up has to be disposed of as contaminated waste!! The Environment Agency has also withdrawn all funding to help landowners to clear waterways. That is all what caused the last big floods in the Somerset Levels. You couldn't make it up though Cameron will pretend that it is not his fault and must be due to the Climate Change pixies.

Whatever is done regarding precautions against flooding and whether it is caused by climate change or not. One thing that is for certain. is you can't control an act of god

Your quite right but we should be able in this day and age to protect human life without any fuss
