Oh yes indeed. We are thinking of taking her to Plovdiv for 4 days in July can you recommend a hotel in the centre was looking at Ramanda hotel is that in the city. thanks

Come on down...a really good range of very decent hotels in and around the city centre, so you'll be spoilt for choice. The one you mentioned is close enough to the centre to allow you to walk (or take a taxi). Parking is a major problem for most hotels...( and everyone else) down here, but there are some with a secure facility...plan on walking or using a taxi to get around, especially in the inner areas.

Actually, just checked with Valia...check the spelling on the hotel you mentioned...is it the Ramada or the Ramanda? We have both versions...the Ramada is actually known locally by its original name (Tremontium) and is a very posh place, similar to something you would find around the Russell Square area in London, but without the stupid prices! Parking there would never be a problem. The Ramanda is a bit further out and not as old or posh.

I can visit and check out any places you may be interested in.

Thank you yes it is the Ramada Plovdiv Trimontium 4-star hotel but it only gets 7.6 rating on bookings.com , it looks fab and has parking. Also like the look of Landmark Creek Hotel & Spa this has 9.2 rating which is great Actually even the 3star hotel look lovely too. Spilt for choice.

The landmark place is in a very quiet part of town, right on the end of the rowing canal...our city apartment is on the other end! Unless you are pretty good at finding carparks, trips into the city centre would be best in a taxi...about 4 leva.
The canal is a very popular place for walkers and cyclists all year round and worth a stroll...lots of small cafes and bars towards the other end.

Oh Fab thank you sounds lovely... Would prefer to stay in the city so we can see what it is like. So think it will be Ramada Plovdiv Trimontium hotel it looks fab...

That would be my choice too...easy walk to the city centre and the 'old town' ...make sure you check out all the Roman historical sites which have been cleaned up and presented really nicely.

Our trips start next weekend to Varna first. End of June VT area and July or Aug Plovdiv and Sofia. Will be good to see Bulgaria for a change. Can't wait

Wow what a day we had today. We went to Romania with our Australian friends and it was just amazing, visited all sorts of places and yes even a church and guess what I did not get thrown out this time, mind you Gail was keeping a close eye on me The paintings in the church and the church itself was just amazing... I think I love Romania now will have to book a holiday there

We also went to Golden Sands for a 3 days and then on to Sunny Beach had a great time
