We didn't get a telly until I was about 5 or 6 but I liked Listen with Mother and I had to learn to tell the time so I could put the radio on myself. If I recall it was Womans Hour on next and it would irritate my mum that I tended to turn the radio off again after Listen with Mother finished. My favourite was " Dick Barton - Special Agent" . I suppose he was a forerunner to James Bond but only on the radio.
