When we bought our house in 2007 we did not realize that BPA put our address as a shopping mall in Veliko Tornovo, We had our company moved to Shoumen in order to register our car. We have found out today that when we moved it ,it was automatically put on the company register, so we do not have to re registerd,saved us a few bob!! It might vary region to region but that is our experience in NE BG

Warning on Bulgarian Property

All foreigners who bought land, a house or possibly an apartment in Bulgaria and registered a company in the country before 2008 must re-register it as soon as possible – or face losing their property. Foreigners cannot buy land, or property with land, in the country in their own name;
the land portion must be purchased through a Bulgarian registered company.

Bríd Doherty of DG International Tax warns that under Bulgarian commercial law, such companies must re-register with the Bulgarian Registry Agency before December 31st this year. Any companies not doing so will be removed from the Bulgarian Registry and put into liquidation. This would result in a loss of company assets as well as responsibility for the liquidation costs.

According to Tzvetanka McFadden, a Bulgarian who runs Imoti Bulgarian Properties in Dublin, concern is mounting that many could fail to meet the deadline.

Parliament has extended with six months the deadline for renewal of companies registration

The Bulgarian parliament has extended the deadline for company re-registration. The new deadline is 30 June 2011. The bill for extension is not yet voted on the second hearing and not yet promulgated in State Gazette . However it is a matter of time this to be done.

This is good news to all companies that hasn’t been re-registered yet. However it is not a good idea for company owners to wait to the end of the new deadline. Ask your lawyers to prepare all necessary documents and re-register your companies. you may face various obstacles for re-registration like missing documents, deceased shareholders, shareholders’ disputes etc. So generally it is a good idea to start the re-registration as soon as possible, because you never know if the process will go as smooth as you thought.

It means that the term for the pre-registration of the companies is extended by 30th of June 2011.

I see the Antique forum is still trying to put the fear of god into its members I just found this in one of their many adds, you would think that now its common news they would let everyone know instead of rubbish like this, anyway I'm pleased to say I have done mine but if any of you do see anything like this don't let it worry you the date has been extended for another 6 months but don't leave it till the last minute.
