I must say things look grim for the UK if this happens, re petrol charge. We could now looking at £2.03 per ltr according to this article on yahoo news:

Your right Tony - that's one of the reasons we all left the UK in the first place, Britain is too expensive on a pension.

I remember when petrol was 3/6d a gallon, good old days, I was driving a Morris Minor at the time. The car had a split screen, headlights in the grill and side valve. The last one I saw was in a museum - oops showing my age now!!!!

Ah bless Itchy you are only as old as you feel: Morris Minor were they the green kind of bubble car? Have seen a few of them still around running around the town.

I learnt to drive in a Rover 14 made in 1939, it had a crash box (no synchro), it had a floor made of 11 ply wood, a dressing gown over the engine kept it warm in the winter, Antifreeze not invented then. I took my test in it and I think the examiner passed me for having the b..ls to drive it!!

If I understood correctly, the BG news just announced that they would be reducing the excise tax on petrol by 25-30 st, but didn't catch when. Still, very good news
