Thank you bigsavac. I wonder if any of the demonstrators were hoodies I bet they have not played up against the Bulgarian Police who pack pistols instead of a piece of wood

I think there are some genuine students who are protesting but I do agree there are those who are only there for the trouble they can cause, therre is nothing wrong with peaceful protest

Don't know much about protesting really, never got into doing any personally. The French seem to enjoy it and there always seem to be a lot of protests going on over there. France came top of all the European countries in a survey carried out by The Telegraph of the " The Most Popular Country to Live in" - marvellous isn't it!! They have all these protests and people are flocking there to live, must be a popular pastime for many. And where did our wonderful country The United Kingdom come on this list of popular countries . . . 26th!!! No wonder there are so many British Expats living everywhere else in the world.

Good girl Louise :Great:Nice to see that you did not take offence Nothing personal about paying fees for students. Learning Bulgarian in VT is probably a better idea than learning Bulgarian in the UK. Where are the experts BG

A degree is a degree In my days of teaching I worked with a guy that had a first class degree in Physics issued by the University of Delhi cost him 50 quid. He did very well with that one. : : I think that it all depends on what you want to achieve with a degree. All a degree proves is that you have the ability to learn something in a certain subject. Learn Geology then you may become a geologist. As did my nephew who got a 1st at Cambridge as did his wife as well. If you go for a mickey mouse degree then you get mickey mouse job or nothing at all, I mean the arty types of degree. These are the people that get real students a bad name and image. If you want a degree in Bulgarian language then makes sense to learn it where the expertise is. But what you do need is a qualification in teaching skills such as a PSG. If you go onto the IPD (Institute of Personnel and Development) web site you might find a course in your area that will teach you the needed skills. Unfortunately I let my membership lapse so I cannot help I'm afraid. Also you could have a chat with your careers officer at school. Learning Bulgarian is one thing being able to teach it is a different ball game. How many teachers do you know that go through the motions. How many times have you come out of class and said boring. To be a good teacher you need to know your stuff Hope this all helps. Tony

| I did not go into teaching until I was 25. I soon found out that teaching is a vocation, I will never know if I was a good teacher or not, only my ex pupils will say. But what I do know is that a good teacher makes the subject very interesting. I once had a guy teach me who was a Mr Bean look alike. We were learning Industrial Illumination at the time(boring or what) but this guy was brill. He made the subject interesting and as a result we all got good grades. All I know is that my students got good grades as well.
There is no such thing as can't (in can't go to my careers officer). That's what they are paid for, not to sit in their ivory towers and do nothing. Plus if you choose to have a job outside the UK that is your choice. You are still very young but you seem to be determined to do the Bulgarian thing. As they say here stepka stepka.
I feel you need to take advice from someone I only wish I knew who.

I agree with starlite, you can get a degree for anything, and its of no use to anyone,i think they should streamline uni,and it should only be given to those who wish to follow a decent subject, like medicine, teaching, jobs that they can get thats meaning full, its a very big waste of money, rant over
