Hi Guys

I can't believe what I have done but hope it is for the best I have given in my notice at my job where I have been for almost 17 years now and decided that it is time to start living. As you know Dougie has been in Bulgaria for the past 3 months and quite frankly my place is by his side so I took the bull by the horns and made a decision to quit working and go to BG for 3 months - we will be home again for the winter months and if all goes well back again next year for the summer.

It all sounds great but there will be a lot to sort out - I am moving our lorry load of goods for the orphanages and disability centres etc forward to 11 July so I am trying to get everything ready for that. Also organize the Garden Party, goods, raffle, entertainment, etc will be very difficult for me in BG as we have no means of getting internet in our village, but I am sure I will manage with help from our supporters, of course Chris, Bill &
Ashley will be supporting us all the way too. When we come back home we can start all over again with the orphanage collections etc during the winter months.

However, it does not stop there - Nooooooooooooo :: whilst in BG we will be visiting our new project which is the Glavinicia Disability Home for teenagers age 17 to 26 outside of Silistra. They are in a pretty bad way, we have already collected 30odd large boxes of goods, inc clothes, linen, material, wool, our own microwave, tools, toiletries stationery few computers etc for them and this will give them a good start. I am hoping to get them to help themselves if we can get the tools/materials donated from the local community in Glavinicia but until we visit them, I really don't know how much help they need. The building is a disgrace and it need a lot of work doing. Beds are old and stained and the floors and walls need paint and covering. There seems to be a lack of furniture and such like. I have attached a few photos below so you get the idea of the conditions. Of course if anyone wishes to help us with this project please do let me know.

So there you have it a huge decision. I am so very excited but very nervous at the same time. We have a lot to do in our place yet the roof still needs raising and the garden is never ending. Looking forward to it now and may even get a chance to visit other areas too yepeeeeeeeee

Well done you, we have yet to regret our decision to start living. It looks as if you are going to be busy though.

Got the final 2 pallets of goods packed and loaded on Thursday and shipped off to PC Howard ready for collection on 11 July. 17 pallets collected this year - Fab eh!!! Next year we will reduce the amount as there will be less children in the orphanages with the new government scheme in action now. The Dimcho had 78 children we are now down to 45, which is fantastic as the children have either been adopted, fostered or gone to a family member. By 2016 the government aim is to close many of the orphanages and have only one big home for all ages - Silistra Municipality have already started to clear the grounds for this new build and we look forward to visiting it later in July.

Day two of no work No paid work, no orphanage work nothing - everything is up to date all the boxes packed and send to storage, items that has come in have been packed logged and ready to take to storage on 11th when I go to do the loading (well supervise the loading the lads at PC Howard do that) I just stand there and look gorgeous and tick a few boxes (that was a joke so no harsh comments Willow) Everything is up to date plans for the Garden Party are coming on nicely so nothing for me to do --------------- Guess what I am bored have to find something for the next week before I have no hair left I want to know whos flipping idea was it for me to give up my job

Tomorrow I am going to town and buy myself a wee present (now that sound like a good idea)

After this post about the teenage orphanage I got back to my quest and emailed a friend who is still in to a lot of fund raising for teenagers the elderly etc. I like you all to read what she wrote after just a couple of weeks

I have to get back to Nikki so what would you like me to say to her. I can tell her to continue and i will get back to her about it all after 14th but as you will be here then she will not be able to contact you by email so shall i just tell her to wait or to be a pilot scheme under the umberela or shall i just work it as it happens but just keep you informed.
