I did suggest last year a meeting for forum members but not much seemed to come of it.

I will put the idea forward again for 2013. Is anyone interested in a 'meet' in Bulgaria. It may not be that easy as people will live in different areas etc I know. Still it's worth a try. Area and date suggestions ?

I too, suggested this some months ago, but got not one response, so have to wonder.

Brenda and myself are due to arrive on a permanent basis in mid-July. We will be in the Pleven area and would
love to meet others from the forum wherever and whenever it's decided.

Another suggestions is::

How about meeting at the Silistra Orphanage Garden Party - on Sat Sept 14th - Many of us meet travel a long way so we all stay in the hotel on the Friday and meet up for dinner and drinks, then we go to the Garden Party on Sat. Make it into a nice break and you get to see another part of Bulgaira too.

Love your idea and as we are coming to the garden party can you tell me which hotel it is you all stay in and we can book it for the night or two and if every one meets up there that will be a bonus.

I'm waiting to hear from my very own 'kindred spirit' (the one with the voice of an angel), because I promised her that I was coming up this year, just to hear her sing! I need some dates because it would be a bit silly to make a long trip twice in a couple of weeks. How much room does 'your' hotel have Bernie?

My hotel I wish There are a few hotels in Silsitra thinks 12 of us booked in last. There is a festival in Silistra the whole of Sept so might have to take pot luck this year i know there is a 14 bedrrom guest house in Serberna but that is abotu 10 miles or more from the town. Will have a look around see what is available now

Annette and I would love to meet up with Forum members, only trouble is we are 3½ hours from Silistra and live near VT and only Annette can drive at the moment. Can I suggest two venues, that is assuming that enough members come forward to make both events a resounding success.

I think this would be a good idea. So far a few people have expressed an interest and are close to VT. Maybe VT would be a good place to meet ?

Silistra is still an option for people who are able to travel to both.

Either place means a very long drive for me, but I'm resigned to that, so I'll go along with whatever gets decided. Count me in.

My wife and I help at an International dog show which is held every year just north of Stara Zagora, close to a village/small town called Starogorski Bani (google maps). It's roughly halfway between SZ and Kazanluck and the visiting judges are always accommodated in one of the very fine hotels there. I've not stayed in them myself, but as the judges transport is usually provided by me, I've been inside and seen for myself..as well as hearing the comments made by these people (all very positive). The visiting Welsh judge last year had his whole family, including Mother-in-Law and they all loved it.

Just a thought.

I have a good friend, he has been my translator for the last five years, he lives in Shumen and owns two large 4 bedroom houses not far from Shumen in a village called Kyulevcha, for possible overnight accommodation. A visit to nearby Madara is well worth a viewing too
