Hi Folks I just thought I would share this with you all.

I'm pleased to announce that My bulgaria portal and other forum members are actively sponsoring a very worthy cause in Bulgaria, "
AidBG"

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

AidBG is a volunteer group dedicated to the care and welfare of the many dogs and cats that live on the streets in the South Varna area of Bulgaria, for more information please visit their website [url=http:
//www.
aidbg.
com:3909leht][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

We are holding a very special event to raise money for AidBG – Animals In Distress Bulgaria and
BSAPP – Bulgarian Society for Animal Protection and Preservation.

CHARITY DINNER & AUCTION
St Nicholas Day – Sunday 6th December
At the Secret Garden Bar and Restaurant –Avren Village
Dinner – 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Auction – 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Tickets for the dinner are just 20 leva per head and can be booked directly from Philippa on 0510 62339 / 0887 249890 – but hurry they are selling out fast! Please also confirm your choice of courses at the time.

If you are travelling a distance she can also arrange B&B for 15 leva per night.

If you can’t attend the dinner but would like to attend the Auction you will be made most welcome – just come along at 8:00 pm and bring your friends!

Attached is the Auction Catalogue, which lists all the lots going under the hammer as well as the full menu, information about the charity and the current campaigns we are fund raising for.

If you live too far away to attend the event, you can still support us in other ways, please have a look at the last page for details.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Our Sponsors for this event – their continued generosity and unwavering support is greatly appreciated. Please take the time to have a look at their pages.

A special thank you must also go to Philippa, Petra and John, without whom this event wouldn’t be possible – Thank You!

Finally, please forward this information on to anyone whom you think will be interested in attending, the more the merrier and of course the more money we raise the more we can do for the animals.

Thank you

Hi Krypton

No, there were a few other sponsors, however, we're glad to support this charity, we've been supporting the 'parent' charity for five years now (we bought them their first computer and printer way back when!).

Also, this forum was the only forum that sponsored the event too ... good job Ashley!

Thanks also to [url=http:
//www.
britishlionfoodstore.
com:8v2qlj92]British Lion Food Store[/url:8v2qlj92], another active member here for supporting the cause.

I'm hoping to get the whole charity auction program available for download this afternoon, but my connection is a bit dodgy at the moment.

Cheers
Chris

A very worthy cause, Chris and Ashley.

I for one will be getting over for the dinner and auction with Nataliya on the 6/12 and hope plenty of others can make it too.

Anybody can get involved and help. Either volunteering to assist with the animals, sending gifts, or sending a donation to help with food and vaccines.

Hi all,

I have just logged in and seen all these messages and replies! I can't thank everyone enough for getting involved and sponsoring this event, with the amount of support and messages I have received so far this is definately going to be a success. Thank You!

I founded AidBG when I first came to Bulgaria 2 years ago as I was shocked at the amount of strays, but not only that it was the way they were treated and the way they were living that upset me most: Starving, tortured, frozen to death in winter or knocked down by cars, poisoned and shot!

In Feb this year I joined force with the BSAPP [url=http:
//www.
bulgariadogs.
com:1qhrmr13][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] a fantastic charity based in Sofia and since then we have neutered and spayed many dogs and cats. We have taken off the street and cared for and re-homed many animals who by now would be dead. The latest was a beautiful Amstaff called Thor just yesterday - he was in the isolator in Sofia and was scheduled to be put to sleep 24 hours after we pulled him! He arrived in Varna yesterday and his new mum picked him up. This is just one of the many animals who are now living a dogs life!! :)

This is just the first of many special events I would like to organise for our needy four legged friends as there is so much we need. The shelter in Sofia is practically falling down and we have very little money for the repairs to the roof or to mend the fences. We are also in desperate need of warm large fleece blankets to keep the dogs warm in the below freezing temperatures we get in winter - these can be bought from most of the Bulgarian markets for around 16 - 20 lev so if any one wants to sponsor our animals to keep warm this winter this is a great way of doing it.

Personally I am also in great need of someone in the Varna area to get involved with the fundraising side of things as at present I am doing it all single handed - if anyone can organise some fundraising for us it would be fantastic.

Finally if anyone wants a copy of the Auction Catalogue I have it on PDF just e-mail me and I'll send it on: [email:1qhrmr13]jacquienew1966@aol.
com[/email:1qhrmr13]

A BIG THANK YOU again to all our sponsors and I hope to meet you all at the event itself.
