For all of you folks that have now made it to the new forum, there are a few things you may wish to do...

1. For those that used their 'real' photograph on the old forum (which we really appreciate) then you will have to upload it again (sorry, but we couldn't transfer everything from the old place).

To do this, first click the blue 'profile' button up there ^
Then click 'Profile' in the left menu.
Then click 'Edit avatar'
and slot your pic in!

We would also like it if you can add your location, date of birth, etc., but don't feel obliged to do this if you prefer 'anonymity' ... however, we do like a bit of openness here!

2. If you want to change your password from the temporary one assigned...

Click the blue 'profile' button up there ^
Then click 'Profile' in the left menu.
Click 'Edit account settings'
Then set your new password.

3. All messages showing as 'New'.

This could not be avoided when we transferred over. However, if you want to get back to 'normal', then just under the 'Who is online' box and the spinning globe, you have a 'Mark forums read' button to click. Once you have done this, then next time you log in you can just use the 'View new posts' or 'View unread posts' on the top right, just under the buttons.

4. If you wish to get an e-mail when one of your subjects has been replied to, then check the 'Notify me when a reply is posted' below, before you hit the 'Submit' button.

If you're reading this, then you have made the journey from the old forum to the new and I hope you like what you see!

Bear in mind that Admin himself has now been working about 36 hours without a break to finish the transfer (with the help of much strong coffee) and help people get logged onto the new place, so don't be surprised if he doesn't answer in person, he's probably asleep!

PS. Forgot to mention that any 'polls' we had on the old site will not have transfered over.

We will try to clear the old ones out in the coming days/weeks, but for anyone that did start a poll, please feel free to start it off again (you will need to start a new topic in order to do this).

Just to add to what Chris has said above if you want to be notified about all the reply's to your posts/reply's
go to to your profile and on the left click Board preferences then click Edit posting defaults you will see the box

click Yes for Notify me upon relies by default and Submit

Also, for Private Message notifications:

Go to 'Profile' and click on 'Board preferences' and then 'Edit global settings' there is a preference for 'Notify me on new private messages' and also 'Pop up window on new private message' please make sure that both of these are set to 'yes'.
