Addional iinfo.... Our new project is Glaviatiza Didability Centre for teenagers - this is massive project but after our vist today, we were appaulled at the conditions these youngsters are iving in. It is a total disgrace.We saw for ourselves the condition of the bUilding and no matter what amount of work goes into this building it will not make any difference. These building are unsafe and certainly unfit for thise children or any one esle for that matter. It appears these teenagers have been totally forgotten. They need to be moved out of that awful place and into a more secure and safe envirnment. A complete inspecion has to be carried out and I will work on how this can be done. Just look at the two sewing machnes that they use and only two girls can use them. They have 8 computers but only 2 work so how do they manage the so called classes they do. This the best room they are very proud of this.

I have to have a good think as to what we can do here - They urgency is food and fuel ::

Certainly looks a massive project to undertake. I would think that any help you and the charity can give would improve matters.

Well we visited Glavinitza Teenage Disability Home on Friday and quite honestely we are appaulled at the conditions - Things are just not right We have to meet with the officials as no matter what work we put into these buildings it will make no differece what so every, the buildings are in bad condition what actually needs to be done is the youngsters to be re homed. I have send the necessary email out but as yet not had a reply but it has only been one day. The young adults were full of smiles and excitement when they saw us, they just wanted to be hugged and they loved their photo taken. It is like these poor children have been totally forgotten.

We saw the computer and our own microwave we send them over. Friday we brought them 2 playstations and about 40 games our grandchildren donated to us. I will see next vist if they still have there. This is supposably a teaching school but everything is under lock and key and when I questioned this they told me they have one hour in the moring and one hour in the afternon on the computer, they have 8 but only two are working same with the sewing machines, the are like something out of the dark ages.

I will have to thiink long and hard on this project. They are in great need of food and fuel, toiletries, winter clotiing, boots and trainers for now. They need at least 20 mattresses Thinkiing cap on now

I have written to the Mayors, the social services, the Govenor of Silsitra etc weeks ago telling them the conditons are appaulling at the Glavinitz Disability Centre and they residents teenagers need to be moved to a more suitable and safe building. Today I got a reply thanking me for our interest and they also are agree with the idea of moving the residents to a more secure building but they do not have suitable building as all the building are in a state of repair If an opportunity arose in the future will do the necessary to ensure
more - quality service to consumers. So bascally they cannot do anything so I have written back stting this is not acceptable we have seen many building in much better condition in that area two schools look pretty good from the outside. Told them we can help but would have to contact the media and the TV, naturally they will not like this idea but something has to be done these poor unfortunated youngsters are totally forgotten.

:Shocked: :HelloWave: It has been a month now since our vist to theGlavinitza Disability Centre and I am so very dissapointed at the response I have had :: . I wrote to the Mayor, the Glavinitza Municipality, the Silistra city Moyor, the head of social services and the Governor of Silistra, repeated emils send regulary I finally got a respose from the Municipality saying they are aware of the situation and they would like to help but it is no possible due to finances but willl bear this in mind. I also got a resposce from the City Mayor saying contact the Silistra Governor, which of course I did but not had any responoe what so every. Talk about passing the buck. I am running out of tme now, this building is a disgrace and nobody seems to care what happens to these poor unfortunate teenagers liviing in the disability centre. Maybe it is time for me to get the Media involved now.

I am very excited as we have had a breakthrough tomorrow.morning I have a meeting with the Deputy Head Governor of Silistra regarding the Glavinitiza project.

Hi Guys

Today we had a breakthrough with regards to our new project The Teenage Disability Centre Glavinitiza, we met with the Deputy Governor of Silistra Vyara Emilova She confirmed that they had recieved my various emails and as a result of them they are currently in search of a suitable building for the Disability Centre, Iam delighted with this and hope it won't be too long before a suitable building is found.

I also asked Vyara to visit Glavinitiza with us so they can see for theselves the living conditions she is happy to do this and will make the arrangements and let me know witin the next two weeks. I have positive vibes about this now. I am hoping the companies in Bulgaria will come forward to help us with beds, furniture linen clothes boots, underwear, toiletories, soft toys, computers, tv's and such like. We will also set the wheels in motion in the UK as our supporters are eager to help where they can. We have been back in the UK almost 6 weeks now and I am amazed at the support we have had for our local community - I put a post out on Facebook asking for help with items for the Teenage disability centre and people are bringing stuff daily - We will be setting up 4 pallets tomorrow to send to PC Howard on Friday morning, most of that stuff is for the Glavinitiza. I had an email today from Ikea stating they also have items for us, so we are off there tomorrow. Oh if only I had a 40ft truck, what I could put in it - any donors out there

I wish you the very best with your new project - sounds really encouraging so far - well done! I always read with interest the posts regarding the orphanages an homes for children with disabilities and the great work that is being done - all credit to you and your helpers and I am sure you will make a great difference to the children and young peoples lives.
