| Declaimer now:: Our 42in tv was new early last year was no used much as Dougie was a way for 9 months - so now we had accidental damage when Wii remote slipped out of grandchild's hand and hitting and smashing the screen hitting the screen. So do I really need to pay £200 excess, wait 3 weeks for them to sort out, plus up my insurance premium for a TV we will only use for a few month a we will be in BG most of the year, or do I just go and by another one. Either way I will have to pay the £200 |

| Decided not to bother with the insurance company after all as too much hassle they want 4 quotes, their own assessor will visit later in the week the excess is another £150 Dougie said enough is enough - he went to the diy store bought the parts ofr £32 and repaired it. Job done now working on the repairing the wet walls looks like minor damage so paint to the ready. I rang the insurance to check on the tv claim - They said we will replace the tv you need to pay the excess of £100. I said ok that's fine but we want the replacement to come from John Lewis as this is where we bought the tv from 9 months ago plus John Lewis gives a 5 year gtd. They aid they cannot do this they will sources the cheapest place to get the tv and that is on Amazone at £299 said no do not want that so she said she they will send us the value of the tv less the excess fee so will send £199 WHAT AM i missing something here The tv is 9 months old we bought it on a sale in J/lewis we have a new for old pols and i am paying £100 access plus another £345 to buy the same TV from J/L full price now is £545 plus my insurance will go up on the renewal There is something very wrong here. Had enough told them to shove their claim I will go buy a tv myself for the money they are offering and still keep my £100 access. |
