| ....by the kindness shown by our new neighbours. I have mentioned before how amazingly kind our immediate neighbours have been since before we moved in.
But today we were quite choked at the Post Office ladies. We have made all the neighbours simple Christmas cards, with greetings in Bulgarian and English, and included the Post office as Dave goes in there a lot and they always try their best for him. After a bit of confusion as there were no names on the envelope (we only know one) they finally realised what it was and were all giggly and pleased. Then today we received by courier (our lovely neighbour) a glass bowl full of decorations from the ladies and a card which they had painstakingly written in Bulgarian and English too.
So often we have been shown immense kindness, whether it is a shop keeper giving us half a dozen eggs free of charge even though they don't sell them, or flowers and veg from across the lane, or fruit and veg from the people behind us.....
We are looking forward to next year and hoping we can give something more back to the community, and especially our lovely neighbours.

| We were invited to the village Christmas celebrations today that took place in the village hall. We were seated at the head table along with the mayor . The village choir sang several traditional Bulgarian Christmas songs and dedicated their final one to Brenda and myself. We were so overcome by their kindness towards us. Then we all ate , drank copious amounts of rakia and danced . A good time was had by all !! Wonderful people . |

Wonderful people . It's amazing how quickly you have settled in and the village has really taken you to heart. You are obviously very outgoing people.....unlike me who has to be prised out to socialise. Dave despairs of me sometimes. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Sara |

| We are lucky to have moved into this village. We are the only English here and I think the villagers are really quite pleased . They seemed to embrace us more when they realised we were here for the duration and not just summer visitors. We have five Bulgarian friends coming to us on Boxing day to experience a traditional English Christmas. Should be fun . The people are so welcoming it seems so easy to make friends here. |

I have to endorse every word you have posted as we to find the village folk including the Mayor most welcoming, friendly and supportive On one side of our villa we have the mini-market, the owner and staff are lovely people and we are grateful to them for keeping a lookout on our villa, but in return I would think they are happy when our villa is occupied (a boost to their takings) On the other side we have Peter and his family, a middle aged man who will always toot when he passes in his car and on occasions will come to the gate to see if everything is alright (he doesn't speak a word of English) but it's fun trying to understand each other and we get by with phrase book and sign language Opposite us we have a new build bungalow, a lovely couple live there and are very keen gardeners, so we get well looked after fruit and veg wise. He works as a security guard which is fine and handy to have as a neighbour The couple who are our house keepers do a good job and keep us regularly informed with weekly bulletins and photo's |

| The old fella behind us struggled to bring us three large pumpkins today, and even told us how to prepare and cook them (we think!) Bless him, he even braved the dogs by opening the gate a crack. |

| And now the Baba from across the lane has brought us a bottle of wine, decorated with geranium leaves, and five bread rolls. Feeling quite emotional, we lived next to people for six months in GB, in a tiny close, and only ever spoke to one of them. |

| It's almost like living on a different planet over here. These people live to share..especially the traditional village folk and I've learnt how easy and fulfilling it is to adapt to that way of life.
Have a very Merry Christmas everyone. |
