| Have you also woke up in the morning and realied that the floor is freezing? There is a physical law that heat travels from hot areas to cooler areas. I heard that up to 20% of heat loss occurs through the floor and by insulating and blocking draughts you will save 350kg of CO2 a year. Here in Bulgaria we can use [url=http: //www. fibran. bg/eng/eco. htm:10grpkyg]Fibran[/url:10grpkyg] for insulating: - Quote :
- In accordance with the latest EU-regulations FIBRAN uses agents / gases that have no harmful effects on the UV-protective layer of stratospheric ozone (ODP=0) and only a marginal contribution to the "
greenhouse effect" (low GWP) without perceptible depreciation of the thermal insulating properties of the product. |

Mike Another point Milke We had to have a new concrete floor when we added the extension and we put in some green insulation (maybe fibron) under the concrete. nad a plastic sheet that helps too I am sure. My friend put his on top of his concrete then the laminate flooring, the mice loved it???? dug tunnels everywhere. On another note I would be interested to hear of anyone with experience of underfloor heating in BG? I think that will be in our next and hopefully last house to build in a few years time. |

Mike Think that info. would be good for a lot of people, probably could switch it from solar to grid power and have the choice? Look forward to reading any gen you can dig up. |

| I would imagine that the floor would have to be lifted as I see it they run a series of pipes below the concrete |
