As we do not have such a thing as a letter box on our new gate in BG, I am assuming that letters are not delivered to your door in rural BG. Does this mean it is picked up from somewhere, like the post office? And if that is the case, do you have a box for your house or have to ask for it? Am I talking Rubbish? Am I blind? Nothing would surprise me! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Mrs Eq

We have to collect ours from the local PO, there isn't any boxes so you will need to ask, keep an eye on when your bills arrive as late payment can involve a fine.

We have a big wooden entrance door and the post lady slides ours underneath (which can be fun in winter!)

All our letters come to our box that is on the gate but parcels they leave a note and we collect them from the post office. Once posty knows you are there i don't think there will be a problem. Our posty takes mail to people at work or where he/she knows he will find them Perhaps we could send you a letter and test it out for you

your post will get delivered to the village post office. Some people go in regularly to check for mail, but in our village the postman gives it to any of the neighbours going our way and they drop it off or visa versa. In our small village everyone knows where everyone lives and tend to help the postman out.

Ours is delivered to the local post office and than given to one of the neighbours to bring to us Can you imagine the Data Protection issue we would have with that here in the UK - Our postman knows us but still will not hand us any mail. He insisted on posting it through the letterbox which is of course he is right and only (doing his job properly)
