Left home to take MIL to Sofia airport at 2.30 this morning...rained and snowed most of the way there and back...4 hours of unpleasant driving conditions! Rain, snow and darkness don't make a good combination. Visibility down to 50 metres at times.

Rained most of the day here and now the snow is coming down like a crazy thing...might just get a lie in tomorrow morning.

Oh glad you got home safe and sound. Not definately not the best conditions for driving. We had rain all night and all day but now it is snowing.

So happy now because we had some rubble down on the driveway so at least there will be now mud and we can get in and out without digging into the ground.

I had an awful drive to Varna airport today to collect friends arriving from luton, snow , iced roads, blizzards and snow drifts, its normally a 30 minute drive and it took me over an hour to get thier, after a long wait in arrivals and many changes of "Expected" time of arrival on the display board it changed to "Contact the airline" the wizz air flight was diverted to Bourgas, took me 2 hours to return home!

I'm quiz master at a local pub and when I left at midnight the temperature was -5c on my car dashboard. so you are not on your own in Bulgaria with the cold weather snowing

Same here....just been out for a morning smoke and it's no where near as cold as it has been. No ice on the windscreens either!!

How are we all going....thawed out yet??

Reasonable day down our way...puddles are now replacing snow drifts, but at least the sun was out and the mercury managed to get above the 5 degree mark. Streets are still very narrow with dirty, frozen snow on each side, making parking a big problem, but it is gradually getting better.

Big thaw here too but we have a bigger problem the garage door seems to have droped as we could not open it. It is metal so on concrete so should no expand . It took about 15 mins to get it open lifting it with a tow bar bit at a time. We went to Silistra today probably not such a good idea as both now down with chills in our backs but had to book the bus to Varna airport for Sunday, Stilian was due to take us but he is not well and I would prefer he stayed indoors. The bus leaves at 8.30 in the morning so we will be better going to Silistra by bus on Sat afternoon and staying in one of the hotels then we are not putting anyone out by coming to the village for us.

Plaman the ironmonger will come here on Friday to check the doors so Fergie has to stay out side the garage tonight and tomorrow night needless to say Dougie is not happy. He has covered her up with blankets and mats so she is nice and warm

Might have been better to drive down here in Fergie....leave her in my garage and fly out of Plovdiv.

Ah bless thank you for that lovely offer Bazz, very kind of you. Planman will be here on Friday so Fergie can go back in the garage all nice and snug. Varna is only a few hours away and on the bus the flight leaves at 2pm so only a few hours at the airport. Stilian has insisted we stay at theirs on the Saturday night so that is much better they are only 5 mins walk to the bus station... The driver will drop us off at the airport round about so don't have to go into varna. This way we are not putting anyone out
