Snow showers across Bulgaria are in the forecast for Thursday, 2 Feb. Freezing temperatures are expected in the morning, from minus 13 down to minus 23C. Highest temperatures will be below zero, from minus 12 in the Danube Plain, to minus 4C. In Sofia temperatures will range from minus 15 to minus 5C.

Over the night weather conditions will remain severe with snow showers and strong to stormy winds in Eastern Bulgaria causing blizzards and snow drifts. Heavier snow showers are expected in South-eastern Bulgaria. Lowest temperatures from minus 15 to minus 10C, in Sofia minus 12C. Tomorrow the weather will remain cloudy but snow showers will weaken and gradually stop from the Northwest. Snow will continue to fall in Eastern Bulgaria, the Thracian Plain and the Rhodope Mountains where blizzards and snow drifts are in the forecast. Highest temperatures from minus 11 to 0C.

Fairly dire in BG at the mo. We lost Power at 1 am last night and did not get it fixed until well gone 5 PM. Of its alright having a boiler but the hot water is pumped and the battery back up lasts about 4 hours if you are lucky. So a bit chilly. :m4: :C: :Snow window: Could have been worse the power was going to be off until 2moz. :Congtrats:EVN I wont moan about you for a couple of days.

we lost power in the afternoon, they struggled to get it back on, a long night with candles , it is unsafe (impossible) to venture anywhere until the weather changes.

- Varna. Nearly 4-foot waves invaded the land and caught the last two days about 150 meters from the coast. The sea is torn towards the fishing village of Kranevo. Over half a meter water level in the court of international children's camp in the resort village. Mayor Roumen Nikolov his hopes incoming waves not complicating the river bed of Kranevo, which will spill into surrounding areas. In Albena beach is flooded all affected by water outlets are the first line.

The weather will be predominantly cloudy Friday, sometimes misty. Lowest daytime temperatures will be between -15C and -20C, some -14C in Sofia. Highest temperatures for North Bulgaria - -15C - -10C, -8C - -3C in South Bulgaria and at the seaside, some -6C in Sofia.

The weather is causing disruption in the Yambol area. With the lose of Electricity and water supplies to several of the outlying villages. Some have been without water for several days.

back in 2005 / 2006 blizzard .. we were without water for 28days and electric for 5 on 5 then off 5

so although not been a picnic this time ...nowt as bad as that for me ,,, for which i thank god...... ! have been very lucky .....so far ...

Well the sun got his hat on yesterday and today in our village near VT. Its beautiful and much warmer with all the snow starting to melt at last. Still a long way to go - its not over till its over but lovely to get out and about with the dog again without freezing to death. Everyone seems to have a smile on their face too. What a difference the sun makes.
