Bakery closed because of pictures on Facebook
A bakery in Bulgaria was temporarily ordered to close because of potential health hazards, after pictures circulated on Facebook revealed that renovation work was going on during production.
The regional inspectorate for quality control and health-care in Gabrovo sent agents to the bakery in Dreyanovo and ordered it closed.
The inspectors came across pictures on the social network site Facebook revealing inadequate quality standards at the facility.
"
Simultaneously, the inspectorate received an anonymous tip-off that renovation works were ongoing at the facility in parallel with the production of bread and other food stuffs,"
Doctor Nanyo Dimov from the inspectorate was quoted as saying.
When the authorities surveyed the facility, it was confirmed that, indeed, the bakery was undergoing renovation work. Inspectors "
did not come across contamination, but ordered the facility closed preemptively nevertheless"
