Hi everyone

I am utterly, totally confused

Our trip is now booked for week of 21st March so not long.

We have spent hours and hours and hours reading and researching the various areas of Bulgaria, the properties available, the weather in the different areas etc etc [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

We are only looking on this trip but it could get expensive with the charges made by the REA's to do viewings (mileage etc).

I need to do some serious narrowing down of the properties I've saved on the computer.

Where to start? Oh help

How can you tell if a village is friendly? If there is a crime problem?

I mean the REA's aren't going to tell you the bad stuff when they show you round are they?

Really, I know it's a personal thing, just want some kind words from all you people who have made a good choice to support and give us strength to persevere

Well here we are, back in foggy, damp Devon after a great first trip.

Weather was great, met lots of nice people and learnt lots about Bulgaria.

Thoroughly explored the area from Varna down to Yambol and across to Stara Zagora, and down to the Rhodopes.

Amazed the car stood up to the roads, we must of covered 2000 kms.

Now have a good idea of what to expect for our money, the houses are VERY different in reality from the photos on the websites!

The villages are very run down and grey looking. This is why we came at this time of year, to see the country at it's bleakest. By the end of the week every where was looking alot greener. We are definately coming back for another look. Need to explore around Haskovo more.

Also might over to south west corner to have a look.

Will put more on when I have more time. Must go get some food in now!

Welcome back Judy and as you say often reality can be a bit of a wakeup call as the saying goes a picture tells a million lies

Any one any comments on Haskovo region? Good or bad!

We've decided we want to be near some mountains, can't bear looking out over vast areas of flat land. Each to their own.

So come on guys feed our brains with lovely areas.

Brian reckons the VT area is too cold in the winter, is he right or wrong!!

I can't get him to explore this region because of this so help me out here!
