| Very juicy, We take off the tree day by day as we need them, and the ones you see in photos are what was left at the end . Yes all from one tree. I froze some and made Jam and crumbles. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| l hope this isn't off topic, but l just have to mention this, since l am very strong in my belief that if we stick with nature, then nature will stick with us.Nature never abandoned us.lt was us humans that ignored the true values of nature
Organic gardening benefits the land as well as the cultivator. The aim is to have a ecosystem firmly in place that will strengthen the plants immune system to resist pests and diseases and when harvesting time comes will be a bounty full of very tasty nourishing fruit and vegetables without any worries of consuming a manmade poison. The use of unsynthetic pests control is far more rewarding and cost very little.lt will cost you nothing to introduce this fine organic organization, which will strengthen the war against the enemy that attack the crops.
But first one must know where to start in organic growing and why it is so important not to use synthetic man made chemicals.Take a handful of your soil and have a close look at it.Does it teem with little microorganisms, insects and worms.lf that is the case then you have the making of an ecosystem that will work for you if you take care of it.These little creatures in the soil are a plants best friend, because the worm aerates the soil and produces a organic material for the plant to feed off.The more worms the better the soil[at a certain limit of course].
Now for the little insects introduced in your garden. The ladybird is a wonderful eating machine and so is it’s larva, which can munch on 35 aphids in a hour. The wasp will fly around looking for other insects that do a lot of damage to the crops. The cabbage white caterpillar is a ferocious eater. And the wasp just love a tasty green caterpillar. The parasitic wasp will stab a aphid, caterpillars and ants with it’s abdomen and the larva will eat it from inside out, leaving a hollow corpse behind. Then you have the mennonites[l think that's what their called].these little micro creatures are a parasite to the slugs and snails which will keep the population at bay.
Then there are the animals and reptiles. The toad is a great eater towards slugs as well and many other nasty little blighters which can send the gardener to the headshrinkers chair. The wren and other birds are masters in catching pests.
There are so many l could name. But my point is if one thinks organic, then we as one world will have a planet that can breath a sign of relief and will recover from the poisons we inflicted on our worldly home. What a joy it is to sit back and watch nature do all the work for us instead of being dupe by the big businesses with their products is the only choice. There is only one choice to make..and that is to think nature |
