Well he finally got his finger from up his ass and sent Assad a message. I'm glad he has finally stood up for what is right. No amount of talking is going to stop Assad or Putin. They have been carrying out these kinds of acts for years and yet when they are on the receiving end of it suddenly its wrong. I would always rather countries find a diplomatic peaceful way forward but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. The Russian Air Force has spent the last year bombing hospitals, women and children. And an appropriate Western response to the disgusting Sarin attack is a big deal? Time for Putin to step down. Russia badly needs a new leader if it is to regain respect in the world.

It been known for many many years that Assad (the father) had stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons. Why the surprise that Assad (the son) used them. Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya all had them in vast quantities. Iran And Syria still do. Putin has the power to prevent chemical attacks and chose to sit on his hands and do nothing. This tennis match of egos will only lead to more deaths and destruction. Putin cannot call this retaliation anything given his record in Ukraine and arming fellow egomaniacal militia with the weapons to bring down a civilian airliner. Hopefully this is a symbolic act by Trump to tell Assad that what he did was unacceptable, and to remind Putin of his responsibilities towards those he chooses to befriend to bolster his own global influence.

Foreign Minister Walid Muallem: Syria Did Not And Will Not Use Chemical Weapons Syria's armed forces "did not and will not" use chemical weapons, even against jihadist groups, Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said on Thursday, AFP reported. "I stress to you once again: the Syrian army has not, did not, and will not use this kind of weapons - not just against our own people, but even against the terrorists that attack our civilians with their mortar rounds," he said. - See more at: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]This is absolutely shocking and as a result of the attack 72 people have died of which a third are children and it has been proved that chemical weapons were used by the results of DNA test on some of the children There are no words that can describe this horrific attack on innocent defenceless people

Someone had to step up to his ever increasing sense of he thinks he can do as he pleases. Perhaps now he'll think before acting instead of just believing there isn't another bully in the playground BUT let's hope both these men are big men, that can stop, that can see the consequences, like Khrushchev and Kennedy did, otherwise... we're in a lot of terrible trouble

The pictures were real in the news its the motive that is not. Assad is winning he does not need or want US interference. There is a huge amount going on in the middle east that we have not been told about with regards oil pipelines going through several different countries with Syria being one of them. Assad refused as he is in bed with Russia and guess who Russia supplies? -yes Europe and guess where the pipeline is going?-yes Europe. This is all about oil as usual and NOT 100 dead people & the dodgy Saudi's are up to their necks in it as per usual, hence the trip to see Trump the other day..........

Russia has to rattle it's cage so not to lose face. The Russian's knew the attack was coming and could easily have used their weapon defence system to take out the Tomahawk missiles. The American's could easily have destroyed the airfield, but they didn't and we have to ask ourselves why not. Trump was giving Assad a slap on the wrist otherwise he would have done a better job. Behind the scenes, they'll be talking.

This week we enter is the week that will determine how the Russians and Iran, maybe also Korea, will react to Trump's show of "strength". We are in for very hot days ahead; towards the end of the week Trump could do another strike and we all will be screaming because that crazy boy in Korea will not tolerate America's aggression towards them. Mark my words: This very week, the world will be praying for peace

"Iran and Russia have threatened to hit back if the US follows up on its air strike in Syria last week, ramping up tensions in the Middle East." Well, Assad has opted for the "I'm gonna get my big brother!" reply. We've seen that on the school yard. Not impressive. The US has 11 nuclear powered aircraft carriers to the Russian/Syrian 0. Here's what they aren't going to do. They aren't ever going to use chemicals ever again because Assad knows that the same missiles that hit his airbase could just as easily flown through his bedroom window.

US military spending far outstrips that of Russia's. They remain the worlds only effective superpower, so when Russia starts making threats I'm really not quite sure why the US should feel overly concerned. Russia isn't going to dare start a war with the US, it's all an image building exercise to make Putin look hard after Trump just showed him up.

How did it come to this? Ah, I remember, between us we voted for Blair, Bush, Obama, Cameron and now Trump. Between them they destabilised the already fractious Middle East, killed Sadam and Gaddafi and encouraged and supported the "moderate opposition" in Syria to fight Assad. And in this process ISIS was allowed to grow and create terror throughout the world. And now somehow it's all Putin's fault and we're all going to be fried in WW3. You couldn't make it up.

After years of cold war there was finally some kind of peace... more an understanding and some kind of respect. Even the dumbest president in the history (Bush Jr) was able to keep that "peace". Number 45 is 2 months in command and we are on the brink of WW3... wow... Trump voters must be the most stupid people on the face of the earth that they didn't see that one coming

What I find crazy about it all is that they fired of $90 million dollars worth of cruise missiles used and they did not hit the run ways? Just to "send a message"? And the runways were in use the next day? Are you serious? Trump could have just sent Assad a tweet. It would have been cheaper. and would have accomplished the same thing. Why would you attack an airbase and NOT take out the runways. This might be a first in military history.

| I think this say's it all, the blind leading the blind comes to mind
Where Trump ranks among least experienced presidents Jesse Yomtov , USA TODAY Published 7:49 p.m.
Americans did make history on Election Day: Donald Trump is the first person elected president with zero government or military experience.
Three others have become president without any experience in government — elected or appointed — but they served as generals in the armed forces beforehand. Here's a look at those presidents:
Zachary Taylor, 1849-1850
Taylor became an officer in 1808 and rose to the rank of general in the United States Army, commanding forces in conflicts including the War of 1812 and the Mexican-American War. He became the Whig nominee and was elected president in 1848, but only served a year in office before dying in 1850.
Ulysses S. Grant, 1869-1877
A West Point graduate, Grant led the Union to victory over the Confederacy in the American Civil War. After incumbent Andrew Johnson failed to win the Democratic nomination, Grant ran and won as the Republican nominee in 1868, presiding over the early years of Reconstruction. He won a second term in 1872.
Dwight Eisenhower, 1953-1961
Another West Point alum, Eisenhower served as Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe during World War II, overseeing D-Day. After the war, he served as Governor of the American Zone of occupied Germany and became the first NATO Supreme Commander in 1951. Eisenhower ran and won the presidency as a Republican in 1952 with the famous "I Like Ike" slogan and won a second term in 1956 |

He's a joke. Two days before the bombings, he was talking about "Being the president of the USA, not the world" And also, in 2013, he sent out dozens of tweets urging Obama to not attack Syria for using Chemical Weapons.. Anybody that trusts or relies on anything that this guy says is completely delusional. How many time is he going to lie or go back on his "beliefs" before his fans actually quit supporting him? It's at the point where it's absolutely ridiculous
