| My thirst for knowledge goes on ( I'll get my coat) , just wondering what the beer/lager is like out there and roughly what you'd pay for a pint in a typical village pub or even a bar owned by expats. Sorry for all these questions but Bulgaria is interesting me more and more. |

| A village bar will charge around 50p. Even at Sunny Beach you can get a large beer for 75p.
Zagorka is my favorite. |

Zagorka is my favorite. I'm with you on those prices and your choice. A 2 litre bottle of Zagorka will cost you 2.79 leva at the moment..not a bad brew IMHO. |

| 50p should see you right in a bar.
My favourite beers are Shumensko, Astika and Zagorka. |

| By the way, I once set up a Poll about Bulgarian beer, way back in 2009 ... it's quite interesting and you can read it here: viewtopic.php?f=72& t=119 |

| Hi,
You may think it obvious but it's not. I converted to Shumenska a few years ago but have always been Zagorkaman. Always will be. |

| Though Beck's is a German brand, it is produced in Kamenitsa brewery and is my personal favourite... Tried the original and they are not the same :) Beck's beer at 50 cents for 0.5l - nothing is as cheap as this :) |

| My Hero used to drink Kamenitsa but he reckons they changed the recipe and it wasn't the same. He likes Shumensko and Bolyaka. He says a couple of Zagorkas do his head in. He is a beer drinker only and can't have too many of any brand nowadays unfortunately. Lager is just too gassy. Prices are right though out here. Depending where you live will denote the main brand because that's where its produced, hence Bolyarka is the VT main brand. You will pay more for any imported beers of course. |

| What I meant was that Beck's, Heineken and Tuborg are not really imported, they are local beers produced by local breweries, same is with Stella Artois, Amstel and Carlsberg. Actually Bolyarka is my second favourite beer, they also produce Kaltenberg from the so-called 'imported' beer :) |
