First topic message reminder :

I've not long returned home from a 500 and something km trip to pay a visit with some great forum members..Mr and Mrs Eq.
It was a very pleasant drive through very interesting countryside and the welcome at the other end was great. I have another, much longer trip planned for the coming weekend..this time the family are coming along and we will stay away for a couple of nights. After more than six years here, working, building, planning etc, I realised that I hadn't really seen as much of this amazing country as I should have, so now that I have a bit more free time, I'm going to get out and about. If I plan a visit to your area, I will be letting you know beforehand so that a meet up might be possible..we are independent travellers and will never require beds for the night, meals or entertainment, but a chat over a coffee or tea would be great. Sometimes, just putting a face to a name is enough.

Arrived home about 10 mins ago..6 hours, almost to the minute! Time for a reviving beverage methinks.

Had a great time, was fab meeting Berni and Dougie who made us feel very welcome..many thanks to them.



As sad as I felt to be parting with my 'pride and joy', it was softened a bit to know that she is now owned by someone who appreciates a quality motor.



Don't tell anyone....but Dougie was out at 6.30 this morning, giving her a shampoo!!!

6 hours, did you stop off for a 2 hour lunch break on route, or did you sat-nav take you a long way round

Nah, lunch, some sightseeing, followed by afternoon tea...it's only 426km, half of which is on 90km/hr roads after all.

Great to meet you and the family too Bazz. The jeep is fab and Dougie is in his element.

It was a long day and we too only got home around 5.20 - The sale went through wih very little hassle just had to wait for contracts etc to be draw up to be registared in the company however, we then discovered that as the company was set up in Ruse we could not registar the Jeep in Silistra - so another headaache. The only option was to transfer the company from Ruse to Silistra . We went back to the lawyers office at 2pm with our own translator and signed all the documents paying the 180lev to transfer the company to Silistra and now wait for the confimation, should take about 4 or 5 days.

We cannot registart the jeep until the company has transferred but we went to the KAT office and booked appointment for next week to registar the jeep to Silistra plates. Not sure about Municipality tax - if the KAT office do this at the same time I can't remember - but will find out nex week.

Went to Immigratiosn office to find out what the procedure is to get the long stay residency We did not get very far they only said we do not need long stay residency come next year when we intend to stay a long time and bring a friend who speaks Englsh and Bulgarian .............

I am tired now a very productive day
