On Monday whilst in Pleven collecting our photo ID cards Brenda twisted her foot on part of a very uneven pavement.
It hadn't got any better by this morning so we contacted the village doctor ( who is also the mayor ) and he called in and
decided Brenda should have it X-rayed at the hospital in Pleven.
Our neighbour who speaks good English said he would take us straightaway.
We arrived at a rather Dickensian building with a corridor full of people swathed in bandages, on crutches, in wheelchairs etc.
My immediate thought was that we were going to be there for hours.
To our surprise we were fast-tracked past everyone straight into the doctor's office. He summarily examined Brenda's foot
with a few prods and told us to go to the 2nd floor "
For photo "
.
We eventually reached level 2 in a lift where the door wouldn't close properly and were directed to the X-ray room.
The door opened and we were all beckoned inside . . . and to our amazement we were met by the most modern hi-tec equipment
imagineable.Instant X-ray pictures on a computer screen which were then transfered onto dvd, given to us to take back to the doctor! Said doctor looked at dvd and told us no broken bones "
foot high, cold compress. Now you can go. "
Time elapsed 30mins. Cost . . . no charge. Absolutely brilliant !! Thank you and well done Pleven Hospital .
Must go Brenda wants a cup of tea !!
