Hospital in Pleven Empty
PostSubject: Hospital in Pleven   Hospital in Pleven Icon_minitimeWed Sep 11, 2013 9:40 pm

On Monday whilst in Pleven collecting our photo ID cards Brenda twisted her foot on part of a very uneven pavement.
It hadn't got any better by this morning so we contacted the village doctor ( who is also the mayor ) and he called in and
decided Brenda should have it X-rayed at the hospital in Pleven.
Our neighbour who speaks good English said he would take us straightaway.
We arrived at a rather Dickensian building with a corridor full of people swathed in bandages, on crutches, in wheelchairs etc.
My immediate thought was that we were going to be there for hours.
To our surprise we were fast-tracked past everyone straight into the doctor's office. He summarily examined Brenda's foot
with a few prods and told us to go to the 2nd floor "
For photo "
.
We eventually reached level 2 in a lift where the door wouldn't close properly and were directed to the X-ray room.
The door opened and we were all beckoned inside . . . and to our amazement we were met by the most modern hi-tec equipment
imagineable.Instant X-ray pictures on a computer screen which were then transfered onto dvd, given to us to take back to the doctor! Said doctor looked at dvd and told us no broken bones "
foot high, cold compress. Now you can go. "

Time elapsed 30mins. Cost . . . no charge. Absolutely brilliant !! Thank you and well done Pleven Hospital .
Must go Brenda wants a cup of tea !! Hospital in Pleven 2581928987 Hospital in Pleven 1763269238

Ah yes, the pavements. I have to admit negotiating them and the mile high kerbs can be a challenge. And to think we used to moan if even one was out of line in the UK!

Poor Brenda, but at least she knows a bit of TLC is all that is needed.[url=http:

Our experience of the hospital in Pavlikeni is very similar, both occasions we were finished no more than 10 minutes from the time we arrived. Staff were good and caring, treatment was superb and cost . . . nothing.

Brenda and I would like to thank everyone for their good wishes on her recovery. It will be quite a slow one we think but she is trying remain upbeat.
We received yet another carrier bag full to bursting with huge tomatoes and dark red peppers from a caring neighbour this morning.
We are learning valuable lessons here from the villagers. Makes us feel very humble.
I feel a pasta sauce and tomato based relish coming on with all these lovely fresh vegetables !!
I get a nose bleed the height of some of these kerbs Hospital in Pleven 2381841692 Hospital in Pleven 2581928987 Hospital in Pleven 1763269238

This also makes a fantastic base for a home made pizza (honest!).

Just spread thick slabs of bread with lutinitza, cover in cheese and grill.

Lutinitza it is then chaps T
Our first 6 weeks here have really surpassed both our expectations.
It's a small village with one building comprising a shop , post office , community centre and the kmet's office.
But in contrast to this simplicity we have fibre optic internet and very good satellite reception on our tv. We had a problem with our internet server
last night and one of their pc whizzes turned up at 9.30pm fixed the problem in about 10 mins and went on his way!
We are lucky to have chosen such a nice village and are surrounded by lovely people.
Brenda is slightly more mobile now . . . but she still has to sit down to chop the logs Hospital in Pleven 2381841692

Sorry Chris, I'd forgotten how good a pizza is using lutinitza instead bog standard tomato sauce or paste.
Glad to hear that Brenda is recovering, but wonder how the poor girl is going to plow the field, clean the gutters and trim the trees with a dodgy ankle.
