Anyone wishing to take a have a street or yard dog or cat neutered, can contact our team at: 0888 002 358 . They are doing male or female animals, the lady on the phone speaks good english so no problem booking. Would be nice if those going could give a donation. |

| Great info and I hope people will use this service and give generous donations. I had my semi-feral cats done and my dog but I was fortunate to be able to afford it. I would recommend Eclipse Vet Services who are wonderful, compassionate, reasonable cost and will visit if this is a problem. They are above the CBA bazaar in VT. |

| These mobile units are a brilliant idea, as long as residents are willing to have their animals neutered. Saves a huge amount of unwanted litters, several in each household who uses the service. And saves on keep as well, most neutered animals need less grub! |

| Unfortunately, many villagers think neutering is unkind! They turned their noses up when they saw my cats in cat boxes off to the vet. They seem to think that letting nature take its course and killing kittens or leaving them to scavenge is kinder!!!! Its not just down to cost. Hopefully Bulgarians living in VT will make use of this service and that the voluntary unit will look out for stray dogs. Some of VT's strays have tags in their ears to show they are neutered and I think that vets do this voluntarily although I don't know how it works. |

| Yes, I have heard that Bulgarians are not keen. There are still some people in this country who think the same, with the same consequences, as the re-homing centres are having to turn away thousands of " accidents" due to being full to bursting. We noticed the ear tags while in VT and asked about them. Looks a bit strange on a dog, but I didn't see any thin ones!

| I'm glad you noticed that EQ. I see the same dogs in the bazaar area every year and surviving well and looking fat. Whether they have a correct diet or two many pies is arguable but they all seem content and have their own sleeping areas. Some Bulgarians do love animals and I once saw a lady sitting on the bazaar steps feeding several dogs around her. She was obviously well-known by local mutts. Its unbelievable how good natured these dogs seem to be. I was enjoying a pie in a local park and was soon being eye-balled by a beautiful big dog with sad eyes. I know I shouldn't have but as he crept nearer I couldn't resist sharing my food. Eventually a cafe employee shooed him off but he took no offence and sat watching from a distance. It really breaks my heart but thats a stray dogs life I suppose and they know no different. |

| im pleased to report my neighbours have no problem with neutering, we're taking a car full as the service doesn't get any nearer to us so most people can't take there own. Hopefully the dogs and cats will behave while we get there. |

| Bulgarians often 'semi adopt' the stray dogs in the Towns. The dogs I have seen are always friendly and well fed. This is fine in the summer but I think many must die during the cold winter. Saying that there is one stray that I see year after year and he looks like a very old dog. Romania is much worse as those of you who travel from the airport in Bucharest will know. The main road when you leave Bucharest travelling to Bulgaria is littered with dead strays. I never cease to be amazed by the behavior of some of my fellow countrymen. I know of a number of cases were people have retuned back to the UK and just abandoned their pets in Bulgaria. If you take on an animal it is a commitment for 15 plus years. I wish people would think it through and realise that it is a big commitment and there will be costs for vets etc along the way. Saying that there are parents who treat their children in the same way. Maybe neutering some humans instead of animals would be a better idea |
