H&M to open first store in Bulgaria in March 2012

Sweden's fashion retailer Hennes &
Mauritz AB, or H&
M, will open its first store in Bulgaria in March 2012, the company said on September 5.

The store will be in shopping centre The Mall in the capital Sofia. It will span 2200 sq m over two floors.

We see this as a natural step in our expansion strategy. We will now be able to offer our customers in Bulgaria a chance to buy fashion and quality at the best price. We see great potential for expansion in the country,"

M, created in 1947, is the second largest clothing retailer globally after Inditex, owner of sector player Zara. Apart from the H&
M brand, its portfolio also includes the COS, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday, and H&

M's Sofia store is going to be located in one of the top business hubs in the country - the shopping center The Mall in Sofia. It will offer the entire H&
M line and will have two floor levels with a total area of 2 400 square meters.

M's Varna store will be located in the city's Grand Mall and its area will slightly exceed 2 200 square meters, the Bulgarian Pari daily announced on Tuesday, citing Colliers International.

The first H&
M store will be located in Sofia's Serdica Centre shopping mall and not in The Mall, as it was initially announced in September.

M will officially open its doors the 10th March. At the VIP event last night shop assembled celebrities, artists, stylists and others, announced the agency All Channels. Storey shop is located in The Mall in Sofia and has an area of 2400 square meters

I can't help but thinking that this statement will cost you dearly...

Yes, we went to The Mall but 30 minutes before the opening of the store we faced a neatly planned queue of people..

Most of the queuing crowd was young girls, some of them brought their boyfriends.. Looks like the fuss was all about few 20 leva vouchers. There were some nice stuff on the windows but we didn't go in because refused to queue.

Apart from the noisy crowd and the large amount of security personnel in front of H&
M, the mall was quiet and quite pleasant to walk around.
We decided to leave H&
M for another day :)
