From the British Consulate in Sofia 11 December 2009

Dear Sir

In regards to your enquiry I have contacted the central office of Traffic Police in Sofia.

Their reply to your question is, there is no official information that registrations of right hand drive cars will cease from the beginning of 2010 and we have no information if and when this will happen.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Consular Section

Sounds like good news for those who took LHD cars over but does it make driving a bit difficult when your overtaking for example I can't see how you would be able to unless you have a passenger [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

HI we were told that uk cars registered next year will have a stamp on the paperwork and this will make the insurance 50% more expensive than a LHD.
dont know if this is true though!!

This sounds very understandable after all I would think it would be a lot more difficult to overtake as already said so perhaps you are right
