When I arrive in BG I will be looking for a vehicle that is almost pot hole proof or with a strong resistance to them.Perhaps impossible I know but having been on a recce to BG a few times I noticed that the UK has nothing to complain about the road surfaces.I would have bought a 4x4 over here in the UK but to get a left hand drive is like looking for hens teeth, when you do find one it's done to death! So my question is is there such a vehicle and what would I expect to pay for a second hand one?Any tips or advice would be appreciated

I suppose a Hummer with big wheels would be an ideal vehicle, if only the miles per litre (in old words " per gallon" ) were better than 5 it would be worth it!!

We bought a Mitsubishi Pajero, 3.0 Turbo Diesel from a dealer in Sofia. Year 2,000, GLS spec with lots of extras (air con, cd, chrome mirrors, chrome running boards, etc.) It had 90,000 kms on the clock, came with a brand new CT (MoT certificate) and a 3 month guarantee on everything (except shock absorbers ... no wonder given the state of the roads!). We paid 15,000 leva for it and it's never let us down once. As you can see from the photo below ... we were glad we got a 4x4!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Thanks! Are they hard to come by? The 4x4's that I have seen in Varna are black and shiny with dark tinted windows that I think I am right to assume are ummmmmmm!

Not at all, most decent care dealers have 4x4's at reasonable prices. I agree, avoid the Porshe Cayenne with black tinted windows, these are better off left to the guys in Sofia! |
