Regional Development Minister Rossen Plevneliev has said that he expects about 200 million leva from the proceeds of vignettes in 2011, up from 195 million the previous year, the private television channel bTV reported on January 26 2011.
Vignettes can be purchased in Bulgaria at about 3500 different points across the country, once the Bulgarian Post also started distributing them as well, the report said. Vignettes are also available at petrol stations and on the Internet.
Plevneliev himself was seen purchasing two, one for himself and the other for his spouse, the report said.
Currently all sale points are stocked with vignettes of all types, worth 190 million leva.
According to Plevneliev, road maintenance and pothole repairs alone cost 160 million a year.
