The snail farm is on the next street down to the B& B its owned by our friend hes Bulgarian & lived in America for 10 years he has been married to an American a German & an Irishwoman speaks perfect American english the farm has been running for a year & the proccesing factory is still been built [nearly finished] they are worth a lot more ready to eat it costs a lot to transport them chilled but alive it wont be a big ugly building or make any pollution its just to wash & boil them'

I only know that it's a popular fishing destination in the area (and beyond). But I don't think it's much different than any other village around - laid-back, a little run-down perhaps... Better try to get in contact and ask the people from Dzhulyunitsa, there are some British ex-pats living there permanently as far as I know.

there are 2 shepherds who take all the sheep goats & cows out to graze everyday I think its 2 lev a week so you dont need to own a lot of land to keep animals; there are 2 fresh springs with good water & the tapwater is drinkable theres a good mechanic in the village our singing & dancing group have won a lot of competitions & wear lovely traditional costumes the population is growing theres loads of young people & kids our school has just had a million euros spent on renovations last year this is not a dying village the local people who work away come back & spend their wages on their houses here the people who are selling usually own more than 1 property ; they spend the money on the house they are living in not on leaving the village the shops & bars are being expanded not closing down its an international village there are Bulgarians; Turks' Romanians; Hungarians & Brits living here fulltime; & Americans more Brits; & Dutch with holiay homes here'
