First topic message reminder :

Is it acceptable to haggle down house prices as it is in most countries. We might buy a little wreck to do up. We are looking to pay around the 10K euro mark. How much would I dare offer without being deemed as a cheeky sod.???

Buying property in any Country is an exciting venture. Haggle of course you can and why not indeed it's all part of the fun. Be careful if the property needs repair and ask around on here if you need to. g

Haggling is essential because the BG housing market is sliding down the slippery pole like the rest of Europe. If buyers don't haggle they will find that the value of their purchase in 12 months from now will be less than they paid for it, so it is important to take notice of prices asked for other properties in the neighbourhood and to look at the relative proximity of shops, banks and other necessary amenities that make life easier for you.

It is also important to keep an eye on the Leva and it's value to Sterling, currently the Leva has strengthened against Sterling and buying and selling at the wrong time can also make a meagre profit turn into a thumping loss.

Nobody is able to look into a crystal ball and say next year will be any better than this year, or indeed will things change the following year, we all have to wait and see what transpires and hope that we have done the right thing and have come out of it all in a fit state.
