Inspections of trucks in EU member states begin

At the initiative of TISPOL, The European Traffic Police Network, a campaign of inspection of all trucks in EU member states will begin and will last from 11th through 17th October. The aim is to take effective measures to reduce misconducts and traffic accidents caused by truck drivers. In Bulgaria the inspection will mainly focus on controlling speed, consumption of alcohol, use of safety belts as well as time for rest.

One would wonder at some of the trucks on the road in Bulgaria if they were really roadworthy as a lot of them look to be 50 years old, but they seem to safe enough drivers probably because there is not so much speed involved.
