Rezidor Announces 1st Park Inn Hotel in Bulgaria



The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced the upcoming opening of the Park Inn Sofia, the first hotel in Bulgaria with the company’s Park Inn brand.

The Park Inn Sofia is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2010 as a re-branding of the existing Greenville Hotel and Apartments, Sofia.

“This new property will strengthen our presence in Sofia;
it complements our successful Radisson Blu Grand Hotel which is located opposite the National Assembly”, says Kurt Ritter, President &
CEO of Rezidor.

Originally, the Greenville hotel opened in 2005. It features 113 rooms, suites, studios and apartments, a restaurant with an outdoor terrace, two bars and two meeting rooms, a wellness and sports center, and an indoor swimming pool.

The hotel is located 3.5 km south of the Sofia city center and 7 km from the Sofia International Airport.

“Sofia is one of the oldest cities in Europe and has a unique, varied architectural style mixing east and west, with Orthodox churches, Ottoman mosques and even Red Army monuments punctuating the skyline. With the Communism era receding from memory, today the city offers the shopping malls, restaurants and bars one would expect from a European capital,“ states the press announcement of the Rezidor Hotel Group, which already has one property in Sofia, the Radisson Blu Hotel.

The company has pointed out that “with Radisson Blu properties already established in most Eastern European capitals, Rezidor’s focus has expanded to the development of Park Inn hotels in strategically important markets.“ Other Park Inn hotels in operation or under development in Eastern Europe are located in Krakow, Bratislava, Prague, Ostrava, Sarvar, and Wroclaw.

Resorts, Regents Hotels &
Resort, Park Inn and Country Inns &
Hotels in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

This sounds all very good but how posh is that :shocked1:I wonder if it's a bit to upmarket for Bg?
