| I read a thread some time ago about trailers (i think it was from mickhev), but cannot seem to find it now. my reason for interest is that I have an off road(although road registered) suzuki sj413 (fitted with all of the toys) which I would love to get out to our place in Kliment, as I would be great to play in the mountains around the back of Sopot. One of the options is to trailer it out, I have built various trailers myself over the years, as in a past life worked in metal fabrication and still have all the equipment. I read that you have to register trailers with a different number plate to your car (I noticed this when registering our car the other year). In the thread it stated that you need proof of manufacture (which is not possible with a self build). Another option would be either an A-frame or a dolly, has anyone had experience of driving across Europe with an either of these, and is there any problems in Bulgaria with either of these., Any info would be most welcome, as although I have an off road motorbike over there already (yamaha xt350) the " little jeep" would be perfect around the village and mountains. |

| As far as I know you don't have to register it when you get it here? if you use it round the village nobody will care. I think things will change on this as well in the future so you could just sit on it! Alternatively sell it cheap enough and someone will take it off your hands and solve the problem for you javascript: emoticonp('') |

| PS I had to0 SJ's in North Wales before I came out but the welding was getting more costly than the cars were worth so sold them, but loved them both for the roads and the lanes. |

| Thanks for the replies;
Chris, i also have an yamaha xt250 that I am renovating , ready to take over to BG, although there,s already been a few inquires in the village about selling the 350, so I might sell them both and get something with an electric start, as kick starting bikes gets a bit tiring after a while.
Dave b, the welding is not a problem as I have both a mig welding set and an arc welding set
cameron, thanks for the warning, I wonder how the big motor-homes get on with small cars on A-Frames being towed behind, |

cameron, thanks for the warning, I wonder how the big motor-homes get on with small cars on A-Frames being towed behind, I brought a vehicle out from UK on an A frame, got stopped in Belgium and told that in mainland Europe it is illegal to use them on motorways/autobhans, was told to leave at next exit and use main roads only, as there were two of us it was easier to drive two vehicles, as they were both insured etc, than to drive on 'other' roads. Have had no problem using A frame in Bulgaria as yet. |

| Hi Mike was I correct in saying that you wrote a small article about this (as I said I could not find it), I would be very interested in anything you could tell me ( as I am sure others would) I assume Kat is the procedure you have to go through.Do you think it is possible to register a self built trailer. |

| I had all the information needed from ifor williams,equivalent to a log book and they threw it back at me,i then had to get an official document from England from the department of transport in Bristol,presented this to Kat but they still would not accept it,so mt wife went over the booses head at Kat,quoting EU law that she had printed off the computer,and hey presto he listened to her and we got it through,with a self build you stand very little chance of getting it through,hope this helps if i can help with anything just ask
