Sofia city centre will be closed for May 6 military parade

Starting on May 4, a number of streets will be temporarily closed ahead of preparations for the May 6 military parade on St George day, Bulgarian media reported.

Streets in the centre will be shut for traffic and no parking will be allowed either, Sofia municipality said. Traffic will be obstructed and redirected two days before the actual parade.

Due to parade rehearsals, the traffic will be temporarily halted along streets and boulevards to be used by military vehicles and troops.

Alexander Nevski Square, Rakovski Street, Kniaz Alexander Dondoukov Streetnear near the Kniaz Alexander Alexander I Square will all be subject to closure.

Additionally, Oborishte Street between Rakovski and Vassil Levski street will be partially closed on May 5 and for substantially longer periods of time during the parade the following day.

The following streets will also be affected: Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard between Vassil Levski and Nazavisimost Square, November 15 Street between Tsar Osvoboditel and St Alexander Nevski. Lege Street between Suborna and Atanas Bourov Street, Tsar Shishman Street between Aksakov Street and Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard, Moskovska Street between Vassil Levski and Kniaz Alexander I Street and finally Benkovski Street between Aksakov and Kniaz Alexander I Streets.
