We have just returned from VT and I must say we had a fab time.  The weather was brilliant, sunny for the 4 days.  We found wonderful places to visit with lots of history, there is a walking tour every day from 11am at the Information Centre just by the Mother of Pearl statue very informative tour. We visit the fortress, art gallary saw all the monuments etc etc. The restrurants were fab too.  The hotel we stayed in was OK for a one night but we would not go back to that one again. The breakfast was rubbish as was the services no cleaning or change of towels for 4 days, luckly we brought our own towels. Did not know how to work the TV and the internet was rubbish. Owner was not bothered just took our money and went I told him the bedside lights were not working and the chair in the balcony was broken, he said dobra and we did not see him again till the next day. We used the Gurka Hotel for internet etc as we spent some lovely evenings at the Gurko Hotel just down the road. The staff were fab had a great laugh with them. We should have booked in there really but hey, there is always next time.

nice photos...when i stayed at the Gurko it was August...the room could not be faulted..but the breakfast they put in front of us was dreadful...but the flies enjoyed it ...hundreds of the buggars
also they tried the two tier pricing on me !!!!

This was the breakfast at the Hotel Asenevtsi You can have all this for an extra 22lev for 3 nights WOW!!! were we spoilt or what

These people have NO idea at all...that's the sort of snack I leave out for the birds every morning. (minus the coffee, of course)

This is more like the real thing, although I would add a glass of fruit juice, a bowl of cereal and a big pot of tea to go with it.
