It seems to be ages since we had proper internet access, the dongle was getting worse every day. But now we are back! Spoke to an ex pat who spoke to a local who spoke to a chap, who turned up just after Dave and the dogs had been for a swim in the river, to connect us up. We have no idea what we have got as he didn't speak English at all, but just for this and Skype we are happy. Will find out more later. And it's faster than anything else we have ever had. Except for TalkTalk of course, so no emails yet, but that's TT for you.

Welcome back Mr and Mrs Eq - our Mayor is currently trying to sort out something in our village because half of us have slow internet. We would be most interested to know what system you have now of course and if we could get a similar system here.

Weeeellll, we had a receipt for the money it cost, in Bulgarian of course, and the chap wore a Videosat t-shirt. There is a long wire going from the Russian's post, across the road, through our garden and through the window, and we have been told where to pay our rental. So no wiser than you! But we have no dish or dongle, for that we are grateful. We will be seeing someone who knows about it soon so will be wiser then. He's from Manchester and speaks Bulgarian. He has already disabled the pointless, noisy alarm for us.

We have no contact with the BG telephone exchange here, when BG went digital they decided to leave our village out of the equasion and merrily passed us by to the next town. Not very nice of them we thought, this is another possibility for the mayor to get our village hooked up to the 21st century of course, albeit most of the residents here were born not long after the 19th century, bless them!! At 71 I am among some of the youngest here and feel like a teenager when I see some of them staggering about, although my brain may feel young, my body tells me it isn't. We have an old dear who just has enough strength to walk to the local shop and when she has finished shopping she crosses the road and unties her cow from a metal railing and walks it home on a rope. There is hope for us all yet!

Managed to get to Talktalk emails by disabling add-ons, what add-on I don;
t know is causing the problem.

Please keep us updated to what internet you have, im moving to Rish and they havent got internet access in the village, only a dongle that picks up 2G, there is no 3G single in the village.

Ive looked into two-way satellite internet but its really expensive to install with the price of the hard where. its around £350 for the hard where and if you install yourself then its £30 a month for the slandered package of 10 MB download speed.

How much lev are they charging you a month?

I just done a google search for videosat, i think this is what you had installed [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Unfortunately its not available in my area
