When we came here in 2007 we were adopted (as most are lol) by Buba Velika. She was a spritely old girl of 75/80? even she could not tell us. Never the less we became good friends, and generally looked after us Anglichanis. Even though she had been forced to give up school at twelve to look after her family due to the death of her mother, she was as sharp as a button ! Infact she understood us more than the younger generation. Over the course of years , she had lost two sons and a daughter in tragic accidents and was left with her least favorite son,and his vile female lodger. When Diado died she was left alone with these two. She had always told us that "
if her son died before her, she would be dead in a matter of weeks
Her son died July 2011, meaning she was left at the hands of an evil and cruel person.. We unfortunatley were witness to some of the things that she done to Buba. A couple of times ,Tom intervened in what was going on and we informed the local police. But she got the worst of Buba and eventually the poor old girl gave up early September. On her funeral (which we and a few of the locals refused to go) we found out that she had bruises all over her body, yet again we went to the local police!! Nothing ,no investigation, no prosecution ,zilche
About November that same year there was a flurry of activity up over the hill to the left of our house. Police, enviromental health inspectors ,local mayor, you name it they were there!! It turns out that six cows and twenty sheep had died after grazing on polluted land!!
It begs the question, Human life or cattle?
