yep ....but they were rotten shots

One rather frightening episode from when we lived in the centre of Sofia (not far from NDK park). We were sat in a coffee house (outside on a table as we had our dog with us). A car screeched to a halt, a few 'heavies' jumped out and shot a guy a few tables away (the staff explained it was a 'mafia' shooting), then the car roared away again.

Whilst it scared us half to death, everybody else just carried on drinking coffee etc., as normal, but taking a keen interest in proceedings thereafter!

The staff told us not to worry as 'the mafia keep themselves to themselves and wouldn't dream of shooting a member of the public'.

Surely he forgot to also say 'except by accident' or because they got in the way.

Actually, it's a very rare moment that someone 'gets in the way'..it's nearly always the case that they hit who they are aiming for. Honour among the dregs, maybe?

Very comforting to know that bgbazz I'll remember that when I next have a coffee on a table outside a cafe, especially when I hear a car skidding around the nearest bend with the empty violin cases on the back seat!! I suppose it saves the recipient from having to kiss someone's ring ever again.

I would be more worried about the car skidding around the corner than a bullet.
