as no reply has been forthcoming , maybe it was not seen by admin , maybe it is in "
the nest "
for discussion still but i feel , as do others ,that this need adressing , so I am putting it here so a directive can be given to members from Ashley

I bring this to your attention "
without prejudice "
to moderators or admin
.....................................................................................................................................

if all a post , posted is in Capitals it is considered shouting and rude ... undisputed ...................but if its the odd word or two it has always been recognised on all forums i have been on that it is soley to emphersise those few words

so a directive please from Admin , so that we can all be clear on it , if this forum is not going to accept the normal practice

Hi varnagirl

Yes indeed, this has been discussed by Admin and the entire team of Moderators for the past 24 hours

When yourself, and these 'others' signed up to this forum you accepted the Terms and Conditions. This basically means that you agree to abide by the forum rules. These rules are set by the Administrator and the team of Moderators.

If any member feels these rules are unfair or unkind, they are free to leave. If any member continues to break the Forum Rules, then they will be banned.

We are not 'all forums' here, we try to be different. Some forums may allow typing in capitals, they may also allow browbeating, bullying and elitism over new members. We do not accept either.

As I said, we are not 'all forums and besides, there are many ways to emphasise a few words:
You could put them in italic, maybe even underline them or even change their colour.

Our forum rules state that typing in capitals is not accepted, end of story.

Hope this clears up any problems any of our members may have with this.

(I'm sure Ashley will be along shortly to confirm this).

As said previously, if any Member doesn't like our rules, they are free to leave. All that we ask is that the rules we set are followed by the people that actively post here.

Personally, I think Admin and the team of Moderators do a really good job here and should be congratulated, not criticized.

Thank you VG for your post. We have taken onboard your comments and fedback accoardingly and I totally agree with Chris and the teams decision.. We, as a group discuss every situation and act accordingly and do our best to treat all members fairly. However, rules are rules and we do adhere to them. g

As Chris says, these are the rules and there can be no exceptions. Plenty of other ways to get your point over. c

Just to add to what Chris has said. Not only was the post in question in capitals it was in large print and also in bold. This was not just shouting it was tantamount to yelling. Now we either have rules that are followed or we end up with a mad house and a forum with no control.

I think the rules are pretty self explanatory, we are not the same as other forums and thankgoodness we are not. g

and i always thought that the forum was well run ..but that does not ...or should not ...stop any member from asking about something they either disagree with or are unsure of...as long as it is done politly ..as this was ...i believe

All comments on this matter have been discussed fully and as stated the rules are the rules which Chris has pointed out, there are plenty of ways to make your point without breaking any rules. I appreciate that perhaps other forums do allow what we don't but that is their choice.

The issue is now closed and a full answer given. g
