| Debenhams has opened its first department store in Bulgaria as it looks to establish its brand in a strategically important market for its European expansion.
The retailer will be the anchor tenant at Bulgaria Mall in the capital Sofia, which services the affluent Boyana &
Simeonovo districts. The store is the 71st international opening for Debenhams. |

| Sofia, Sofia, Sofia - What about the rest of Bulgaria and the big towns like Plovdiv, Veliko Turnovo, Shumen and the coast? The whole of Bulgaria is not just about Sofia. |

| I suppose you could say the same about UK London, London, London they all talk about London. Guess the capital cities are the places to be.  Thanks for the update Vitosha. Good to hear there are a variety of shops around now. M& S are also in that place we are not going to mentions any more  |

| I agree with you all it always seems to be Sofia, what about the rest of Bulgaria, they will be running bus trips next to see these shops. |

| When we lived in Sofia, I got chatting to a guy in the Sharaton Hotel who worked for Tesco and was on a 'recky'. I asked him the same, and he said that the very first branch would always open in the capital city of any country, then if it worked out, they would roll out across the country.
