Just wondering, just out of interest what's Plovdiv like during the summer and winter and how does it compare to elsewhere in BG? thanks in advance.

I don't really believe it matters where you live here in the Winter, there will always a lot of the "
white stuff"
laying about from time to time. Just a matter of how deep it is, how tall are you? No good if you can't see over the top!!

Exactly right itchy..In six years I've seen it ankle deep once in Plovdiv but had it two metres deep in our house up in the Rhodope.

Being as everyone so far has given a serious reply, may I offer the following to the question where is the warmest place in BG in the winter:
A decent hotel anywhere,
A restaurant almost anywhere,
A bar almost anywhere,
1 metre from a petchka anywhere,
Under a pile of blankets or a duvet almost anywhere, preferably indoors,
Cuddled up to someone you love, dressed, anywhere,
As above but not dressed, indoors under duvet or blanket,
In a taxi,
On a train,
In the departure lounge, Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Bourgas etc. waiting to fly somewhere really warm!

we definately live in the warmest place in Bulgaria. Over the last 9 years we have listened and watched and it is fact whilst there is snow in VT Burgas Yambol we have dry sunny days So it is Straldja that comes up on top. It is known for it's micro climate and we have lived and proved it here

Burgas is fairly mild during the winter compared to inland, snow rarely last longer than a few days, summer days are more bearable too, being on average 5-10'c cooler, when it can be a stifling 35-40' c inland a gentle breeze onshore (everyday from 12.30) keeps it to a moderate 25-32'c.

I'm sticking to Plovdiv area..we almost had some snow this winter. Today is warm, dry and sunny..again.

The warmest place is definitely in bed with an electric blanket!!!!

Only if you have a reliable power supply.
