Spelling, is a no go for lots of people, and having a spell checker on your computer will only tell you if the word is spelt wrong and not that you have chosen the wrong word,

i.e. two, too or to …
there or their…
wear, were or where.

And to make the English language even more difficult, we pronounce words completely different, even when there is only one letter different in the spelling,

i.e. Bough for part of a tree,
but change the b to a c and we have cough,

So hard and so difficult for most people, even when the English language is their first language.

i never understood the i before e except after c. and dont forget there are exceptions to the rule :Headbang:not got a chance really have you. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] dont worry if you cannot spell in todays texting, shorthand is the key to understanding language.

We were always taught i before e except after c when I was at school if that helps anyone. Apart from that you can always give the excuse that any mistakes were a keyboard error.

Sorry, I'm the daughter and granddaughter of teachers!! I used to love spelling tests at school.

However, I could never grasp the concept of geometry or algebra. Who cares if a+b=x,y or z? What's the point?

I disliked algebra as well, it never made sense to me why two ++ made a minus. So never mind, I have never had the need to use algebra and not really bothering to learn it has not done me any harm. I hope!!

Its so very true but lets also not forget the English grammar is changing daily and its not down to the kids, Its down to the standard of education the is forced upon them these days which is a sad state to be in or even admit.
