| Hi Guys Just a quick updated to say, as you know we were invited to the Bulgarian Embassy in London by the (BBS) British Bulgarian Society ON Nov 10th 2012 We were met by our host The British Bulgarian Society president Dr Annie Kay, we have been corresponding for a while now. She really is a lovely lady and was delighted we made the effort to attend the Societies 60 year Jubilee. I must admit I was not looking forward to it at all, thinking of all those stuff shirts etc but I was very surprised, everyone was very friendly. Several professors and academy doctors attended and came and chatted to us. The Ambassador was there but after his brief speech he and his family vanished, so sorry could not get a picture with him. A few reporters. We told everyone who asked about our cause stressing the fact that we needed essential items as money is not what we are about although when we need specific items than we will do our best to fundraise plus of course we have a few sponsors that help. It was a nice evening, with Bulgarian dancers, Irish Choir, tales from the past, dancing, solo singers singing old Gaelic folklore - It appears that the Bulgarian folklore was born from the Gaelic music. There was nibbles and wine was laid on. Finished at 9pm just in time for the Memorial Services at Albert Hall to start - The streets were packed - We did not have too far to walk to the tube station. Here is a photo of some if the dancers and singers and Dr Annie herself the BBS president [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |
