Hi everyone we are back in BG after a trip to the UK and also a trip for me to Rhodes to the sudden death of my sister in law. Well on the way back to Varna a young lady who is holidaying in Golden Sands said to me is there much rain in BG. No said I not this time of year. Serves me right as those of you know we just had the biggest thunder storms ever. Flooded basement once again, but at least the French drains were good. Blasted rain got over my flood defence, so another lesson learnt.

Welcome back Tony hope your trip to UK was enjoyable - real sorry to hear about your sister in law. Also about the flooding - we are dreading the rain as the neighbors now tell us in July they get really bad rain and it will flood the celler, we did a makeshift job whilst there in May but will have to build a wall all round the cellar this year some time unless we want floods every year.

Thank you for the kind thoughts Bernie. Apart from all the bad news and luck we have been having there is a bit of good news . We will become Grandparents again in October as our youngest is having her second child

I don't know about walls maybe the Thames Flood barrier might help
