I have noticed over a period that some people have returned to the UK or their place of origin and I thought it would be a good idea to find out whats its like to go back after living in Bulgaria for a period perhaps some of you could say why you moved back? but more importantly what life is like for you now and what you expect?

I have some friends who recently returned to england after 6yrs in bulgaria. They have found it really difficult. They ran out of money which is why they returned and have ended up having to stay at various friends houses as they are not entitiled to social housing any more. they are shocked by the cost of living. Having returned they now wish they hadn't as they say they had a better standard of life being self sufficent in bulgaria than they do getting state help here. They have another meeting with the housing department today, who now say that they may be entitiled to some help as they have now registered as being homeless and destitute but they have been warned that the help they recieve may be a prolonged stay in bed and breakfast. I guess this will probably be different depending on weither the local council have any housing or not. Ours don't so theres always an excuse as to why they can't help.

everyone that came out when we did ...8 yrs ago have returned now...all for different reasons......family finance or basically had enough of bulgaria
the one in the first 2 catogories above have settle back in really well.....although they loved ,at the time, their time in bulgaria and did NOT WANT to return ..they are so much happier ...and yes ,the ones that ran out of money ,got housing and all other benifits.....horses for courses !!
