Car Crash Kills 1, Injures 10 in Western Bulgaria
Five people were taken to the "
Pirogov"
emergency hospital in Sofia (picture) after a hellish car crash near the western town of Dupnitsa.
One person died and 10 were seriously injured in a head-on collision in western Bulgaria, the police inform Saturday.
The accident happened on the E-79 road near the village of Dyakovo.
All were initially taken to the Emergency Room in the nearby town of Dupnitsa. Five, including two children, were later transferred to the "
Pirogov"
emergency hospital in Sofia.
A 1.5-year-old girl is listed with a head trauma, while her 3-year-old brother is in stable condition. The father, 27, has been treated for head injuries and released;
the mother is listed with a pelvis fracture. The fifth person is a 22-year-old woman with concussion.
The police say the collision between the "
Renault"
and the "
Mazda"
happened on a section of the road where traffic is directed by the police since it runs in a single lane.
